প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার ওয়াশিংটনস্থ বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাস পরিদর্শন
ওয়াশিংটন ডিসি, ২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর।। যুক্তরাষ্ট্র সফররত প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা গতকাল বুধবার ওয়াশিংটন ডিসিতে অবস্থিত বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাস পরিদর্শন করেন। তিনি ১৯৯৭ সালে এই চ্যান্সারি ভবনের ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন এবং ২০০০ সালে নবনির্মিত ভবনের উদ্বোধন করেছিলেন।
মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী বুধবার বিকেলে দূতাবাসে পৌঁছালে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে নিযুক্ত বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রদূত মোহাম্মদ ইমরান ফুলের তোড়া দিয়ে তাকে স্বাগত জানান।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী প্রথমে দূতাবাসের বঙ্গবন্ধু কর্নারে অবস্থিত জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের আবক্ষ মূর্তিতে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করে তার প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন। বঙ্গবন্ধুর স্মৃতির প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা প্রদর্শন করে তিনি সেখানে কিছু সময় নীরবে দাড়িয়ে থাকেন।
পরে তিনি বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসের কর্মকর্তাদের সাথে মতবিনিময় করেন এবং দেশের ভাবমূর্তি আরও উন্নত করতে তাদের অত্যন্ত আন্তরিকতা, পেশাদারিত্ব, সততা ও দেশপ্রেমের সাথে দায়িত্ব পালনের আহ্বান জানান।
তিনি শহিদ মিনার ও বঙ্গবন্ধু কর্নারসহ দূতাবাসের বিভিন্ন এলাকা ঘুরে ঘুরে দেখেন।
প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে ছিলেন পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. এ কে আবদুল মোমেন, অ্যাম্বাসেডর-অ্যাট-লার্জ মোহাম্মদ জিয়াউদ্দিন, পররাষ্ট্র সচিব (সিনিয়র সচিব) মাসুদ বিন মোমেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ের সচিব মোহাম্মদ সালাহ উদ্দিন এবং প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ের অন্যান্য ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ।
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visits Bangladesh Embassy in Washington
Washington DC, Sept 28, 2023 Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday visited Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the Chancery Building in 1997, and inaugurated the newly constructed building in 2000.
On her arrival at the embassy, the Prime Minister was received by Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA Muhammad Imran with a flower bouquet.
The Prime Minister first paid deep homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his bust at the Bangabandhu Corner of the Embassy. She stood in solemn silence there for sometimes as a mark of profound respect to the Father of the Nation.
She later exchanged views with the officials of the Bangladesh Embassy and asked them to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity, professionalism, honesty and patriotism to further enhance image of the country.
She also went round different parts of the embassy, including Shaheed Minar and Bangabandhu Corner.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Ambassador-at-Large Mohammad Ziauddin, Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) Masud Bin Momen, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin and senior officials of the PMO.
