মেক্সিকো–বাংলাদেশ দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্ক জোরদার করতে বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাস বদ্ধপরিকর
মেক্সিকো সিটিস্থ বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাস বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা ও জাতীয় দিবসের ৫২তম বার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে দূতাবাস প্রাংগনে এক জমকালো সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে।
উল্লেখ্য, এই অনুষ্ঠানটি ২০২৩ সালের ২৬ শে মার্চের জন্য নির্ধারিত হলেও পবিত্র রমজান মাসের কারণে অনুষ্ঠানটি ২০২৩ সালের ২৮ এপ্রিল অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ঊক্ত সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানে বিভিন্ন দেশের রাষ্ট্রদূত, শিক্ষাবিদ, স্থানীয় গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিবর্গ এবং গণমাধ্যম কর্মীসহ উচ্চপদস্থ সরকারি কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন এবং সম্মানিত অতিথি ছিলেন মেক্সিকোর পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের এশিয়া প্যাসিফিক বিভাগের মহাপরিচালক ফার্নান্দো গঞ্জালেজ সাইফে।
অনুষ্ঠানে মহাপরিচালক সাইফে তার বক্তব্যে বাংলাদেশ ও মেক্সিকোর মধ্যে ঘনিষ্ঠ ও ক্রমবর্ধমান বন্ধুত্বের কথা তুলে ধরে এই সম্পর্ককে আরো জোরদারকরণে মেক্সিকোর অঙ্গীকারের কথা উল্লেখ করেন। ২০২২ সালের নভেম্বরে বাংলাদেশ এবং মেক্সিকোর মধ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত দ্বিতীয় ফরেন অফিস কন্সাল্টেশনে অংশগ্রহনের সুবাদে তিনি বাংলাদেশের যে অভুতপুর্ব অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়ন এবং সামাজিক অগ্রগতি প্রত্যক্ষ করেন- তার ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন। দুইদেশের মধ্যে্কার দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্ককের ‘উজ্জ্বল সম্ভাবনা’-এর কথা উল্লেখ করে, তিনি এই সম্পর্ককে আরো গতিশীল, শক্তিশালী ও বাস্তবমুখী করে গড়ে তুলতে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ বলে জানান। উল্লেখ্য, এ বছর ঢাকায় মেক্সিকোর দূতাবাস স্থাপনের প্রেক্ষাপটে তার এই অঙ্গীকার বিশেষভাবে তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ, যা দুই দেশের মধ্যে বৃহত্তর সহযোগিতা, যোগাযোগ ও অংশীদারিত্বের নতুন সম্ভাবনা সৃষ্টি করবে বলে আশা করা যাচ্ছে।
রাষ্ট্রদূত আবিদা ইসলাম তার সংক্ষিপ্ত বক্তব্যে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান এবং ১৯৭১ সালের মহান স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের সকল শহিদসহ বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা এবং দুই লক্ষ বীরাঙ্গণার অপরিসীম অবদানের জন্য তাদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন।
পারস্পরিক শ্রদ্ধা, বিশ্বাস ও অভিন্ন মূল্যবোধের ভিত্তিতে বাংলাদেশ ও মেক্সিকোর মধ্যকার স্থায়ী বন্ধনের কথা উল্লেখ করে রাষ্ট্রদূত বলেন, এ বছর ঢাকায় মেক্সিকোর দূতাবাস স্থাপনের মধ্য দিয়ে দ্বিপক্ষীয় সম্পর্ক আরও জোরদার হবে এবং সহযোগিতার নতুন সুযোগ উন্মোচিত হবে। পরে অতিথিদের ঐতিহ্যবাহী বাংলাদেশী খাবার পরিবেশনের মধ্য দিয়ে আপ্যায়ন করা হয় যা তাদের বাংলাদেশের সমৃদ্ধ সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্যের স্বাদ দেয়।
ঊল্লেখ্য, মেক্সিকো সিটিস্থ বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাস বাংলাদেশ ও মেক্সিকোর মধ্যেকার দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্ক জোরদারে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ এবং ভবিষ্যতে সহযোগিতা ও সহযোগিতার জন্য নতুন পথ অনুসন্ধানে কাজ করে চলেছে।

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Mexico City hosted a grand Reception at the Chancery to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Independent and National Day of Bangladesh. The event, which was originally scheduled for March 26, 2023, was held on April 28, 2023, due to the holy month of Ramadan in March. The reception was attended by a distinguished group of high-ranking officials, including ambassadors, government officials, academicians, local dignitaries, and media personnel. The Guest of Honour was the Director General of the Asia Pacific Wing of the Foreign Ministry of the United Mexican States, Fernando Gonzalez Saiffe.
During his speech at the event, Director General Saiffe highlighted the close and growing friendship between Bangladesh and Mexico, demonstrating Mexico’s commitment to enhancing the relationship further. He expressed deep satisfaction with the remarkable economic development and social progress that Bangladesh has achieved, which he witnessed in person during his maiden visit to Bangladesh in November 2022 for attending the Second Foreign Office Consultation in Dhaka. Furthermore, Director General Saife assured the audience that he is committed to fostering a more dynamic, fast, and tangible relationship between Bangladesh and Mexico as the bilateral relations have ‘bright’ potential for the future cooperation. This commitment is particularly significant with the upcoming opening of Mexico’s embassy in Dhaka in this year, which will provide an avenue for greater collaboration, communication, and partnership between the two nations.
Ambassador Abida Islam, in her brief speech, paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyrs of the War of Independence in 1971 for their immense contributions, underscoring their supreme sacrifices for the nation. She also mentioned that this event is also a celebration of the progress Bangladesh has made since its independence in 1971 highlighting the ongoing socio-economic development of Bangladesh under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Referring to the enduring bond between Bangladesh and Mexico, rooted in mutual respect, trust, and shared values Ambassador Islam also mentioned that the establishment of a Mexican Embassy in Dhaka this year will further enhance bilateral relations and create new collaboration opportunities. The guests were later treated to traditional Bangladeshi cuisine, which offered a taste of Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage.
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Mexico City remains committed to strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Mexico and looks forward to exploring new avenues for cooperation and collaboration in the future.
