আবুজায় বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশনে বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার ৫০তম বার্ষিকী পালিত
দূতাবাস প্রেরীত সংবাদ/২৭ মার্চ। আবুজা: বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশন, আবুজা যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় এবং উৎসবমখুর পরিবেশে বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার ৫০তম বার্ষিকী ও জাতীয় দিবস পালন করেছে। সকালে জনাব মাসুদুর রহমান, মান্যবর হাইকমিশনার জাতীয় সংগীতের সুরে জাতীয় পতাকার উত্তোলনের মাধ্যমে দিনের কর্মসূচির উদ্বোধন করেন। এরপর জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুরের রহমান, তাঁর পরিবারের শহীদ সদস্য, জাতীয় চার নেতা, ত্রিশ লক্ষ শহীদ মুক্তিযুদ্ধের বীর শহীদ এবং দখলদার পাকিস্তানি বাহিনী কর্তৃক দ্বারা নির্যাতনের শিকার দুই লক্ষ নারীর প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জ্ঞাপন করে একমিনিট নীরবতা পালন করা হয়। তারপর দিবসটি উপলক্ষে মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতি, মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী, মাননীয় পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রী এবং মাননীয় পররাষ্ট্র প্রতিমন্ত্রী কর্তৃক প্রদত্ত বাণী পাঠ করা হয়। দিবসটির তাৎপর্যের উপর একটি প্রামাণ্যচিত্র প্রদর্শন করা হয়। আলোচনা পর্বে, হাইকমিশনার বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতায় সর্বকালের সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ বাঙালি জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুরের রহমানের অবিসংবাদিত ভ‚মিকা ও অবদান কৃতজ্ঞচিত্তে¡ স্মরণ করেন। তিনি ১৯৪৭ থেকে ১৯৭১ সাল পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার সংগ্রামের প্রতিটি পর্বের উপর বিস্তারিত আলোকপাত করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে মিশনের কর্মকর্তা এবং কর্মচারী ছাড়াও নাইজেরিয়ার আবুজায় বসবাসরত বাংলাদেশি নাগরিকও অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
স্বাধীনতার সূবর্ণজয়ন্তী উদযাপনের অংশ হিসেবে, আবুজার অভিজাত হিলটন ট্রান্সকর্প হোটেলে কোভিড সংক্রান্ত স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে এক অভ্যর্থনার আয়োজন করা হয়। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠান বাংলাদেশ ও নাইজেরিয়ার জাতীয় সংগীত বাজানের মধ্য দিয়ে শুরু হয়। জনাব মাসুদুর রহমান, হাইকমিশনার তাঁর স্বাগত বক্তব্যে, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুরের রহমান, মহান মুক্তিযুদ্ধের ত্রিশ লক্ষ শহীদ এবং বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের চরম আত্মত্যাগের কথা গভীরভাবে স্মরণ করেন। বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার ৫০তম বার্ষিকী এবং জাতির পিতার জন্মশতবার্ষিকী উদযাপনের গৌরবময় সন্ধিক্ষণের উপর আলোকপাতের পাশাপাশি তিনি বিশ^নেতৃবৃন্দ কর্তৃক সমুজ্জ্বল বাংলাদেশ সম্পর্কে ভূয়সী প্রশংসার কথাও তুলে ধরেন। ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ বির্নিমাণে এবং মধ্যম আয়ের দেশ হিসেবে উন্নীতকরণে ‘রূপকল্প-২০২১’ অর্জনে মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে আর্থ-সামাজিক ক্ষেত্রে বাংলাদেশের অগ্রযাত্রার একটি সবিস্তর পথরেখা তুলে ধরেন। বাংলাদেশ-নাইজেরিয়া দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্কের উপর আলোচনা করতে গিয়ে তিনি আগামী দিনগুলোতে পারস্পরিক স্বার্থ সংশ্লিষ্ট বিদ্যমান সম্পর্ককে এক নতুন উচ্চতায় নিয়ে যাওয়ার অঙ্গীকার ব্যক্ত করেন। নাইজেরিয়ার প্রচলিত রীতি অনুযায়ী, অভ্যর্থনা অনুষ্ঠানে নাইজেরিয়ার পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রীর প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের এশিয়া ও প্রশান্ত মহাসাগর বিষয়ক ডিভিশনের পরিচালক মিস আয়েশা দেওয়ান উপস্থিত ছিলেন। তিনি তাঁর বক্তব্যে, বাংলাদেশ ও নাইজেরিয়ার দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্কের বিস্তারিত বর্ণনা দেন। তিনি বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার সূবর্ণ জয়ন্তী উপলক্ষ্যে নাইজেরিয়া সরকারের আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা জ্ঞাপন করেন। কোভিড মহামারি কবলিত বিশ^ অর্থনীতিতেও বাংলাদেশের অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধিকে একটি দৃষ্টান্ত হিসেবে ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন। তিনি আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন যে আগামী দিনগুলোতে শিক্ষা, কৃষি, প্রতিরক্ষা, সংস্কৃতি এবং ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্যসহ পারস্পরিক স্বার্থ-সংশ্লিষ্ট ক্ষেত্রসমূেহ দুদেশের সম্পর্ক গভীরতর হবে। সাম্প্রতিককালে দুদেশের মধ্যে দ্বিপাক্ষিক সহযোগিতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষরিত হওয়ায় সন্তোষ প্রকাশের পাশাপশি তিনি বাংলাদেশ ও নাইজেরিয়ার শীর্ষ চেম্বার্স (এফবিসিসিআই ও নাসিমা) এর মধ্যে স্বাক্ষরিত সমঝোতা স্মারক দুদেশের ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য সম্প্রসারণে নতুন গতি সঞ্চার করবে বলে আশা প্রকাশ করেন। ড: ইফেওমা আনিয়োনওটাকু, সচিব, তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতি মন্ত্রণালয়, সেনা প্রধানের প্রতিনিধি মেজর জেনারেল চালর্স অফোচে, চিফ অব প্রটোকল, এম্বাসাডর বেলো এইচ কাজাওরে মান্যবর হাইকমিশনার, মিস আয়েশা দেওয়ান, মিজ দিলমত আরা-এর সাথে স্বাধীনতার সূবর্ণ জয়ন্তী উপলক্ষ্যে কেক কাটায় অংশগ্রহণ করেন। নাইজেরিয়া কণ্ঠশিল্পী প্রিন্সেস বোলা ইজেজি বঙ্গবন্ধুর প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানিয়ে ‘যদি রাত পোহালে শোনা যেত বঙ্গবন্ধু…’ গানটি পরিবেশন করেন।
অভ্যর্থনা উপলক্ষে মিশন কর্তৃক একটি স্টল সাজানো হয়েছিল যেখানে বাংলাদেশের প্রধান রপ্তানি পণ্য, বাংলাদেশের অপরূপ সৌন্দর্য সংবলিত ডিসপ্লে বোর্ড এবং জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু জন্মশতবার্ষিকী উদযাপন উপলক্ষে মিশনের বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানের চিত্র সংবলিত মুজিব কর্নার স্থান পেয়েছিল। বাংলাদেশের ঐতিহ্যবাহী পিঠা ও মিষ্টিরও পসরা সাজানো হয়েছিল যেখানে ছিল ঘরের তৈরি চন্দ্রপুলি, নকশিপিঠা, কালোজাম, গুঁড়ের সন্দেশ, গোলাপ ফুলের পিঠা এবং পোয়া পিঠা। অনুষ্ঠানে বঙ্গবন্ধু ও স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধ, পর্যটন এবং বাংলাদেশের অর্থনৈতিক সম্ভাবনার উপর প্রামাণ্যচিত্র প্রদর্শন করা হয়েছে। অতিথিদেরকে স্যুভেনির উপহার হিসেবে সুবর্ণ জয়ন্তী ও মুজিববর্ষ মগ, সূবর্ণ জয়ন্তী কোট পিন, মুজিব বর্ষ কোট পিন, দুদেশের পতাকা সংবলিত এবং জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের জন্মশতবার্ষিকী উদযাপন উপলক্ষে নাইজেরিয়ায় অবমুক্ত স্মারক ডাকটিকেট দেয়া হয়।
অভ্যর্থনায় প্রায় ৩০টি দেশের রাষ্ট্রদূত/হাইকমিশনার এবং জাতিসংঘ ও আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থার প্রতিনিধিসহ শিক্ষাবিদ, ইলেট্রনিক এবং প্রিন্ট মিডিয়া ব্যক্তিত্ব, সামরিক ও বেসামরিক উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মকর্তা এবং নাইজেরিয়ার বিভিন্ন অঙ্গরাজ্যের চেম্বারের ব্যবসায়িক নেতৃবন্দ এবং নাইজেরিয়া বসবাসরত বাংলাদেশি নাগরিক উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এছাড়াও মিশনের কর্মকর্তা এবং তাদের পরিবারের সদস্যবর্গ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
27 March 2021, Abuja: Bangladesh High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria celebrated 50th Anniversary of the Independence and National Day in a befitting manner with festivity. In the morning event, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria Mr. Masudur Rahman inaugurated the day-long event with hoisting of national flag amid playing of national anthem. A one minute silence is observed to pay homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his family members, four national leaders, three million martyrs, martyred freedom fighters and two hundred thousand women subject to ignominy and atrocity by the Pakistani occupied forces. It was followed by reading out messages from the Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Foreign Minister and Hon’ble Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. A documentary was screened on the significance of the day. In the discussion session, High Commissioner paid rich tribute to the greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his visionary leadership ushering an independent Bangladesh. He also delved into the details focusing on the iconic leadership of Bangabandhu in every movements from 1947 to 1971 until Bangladesh became independent in 1971. The program was also attended by members of Bangladesh community.
As a part of observance of the Golden Jubilee of Independence, a Reception was held at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja in the evening on 26 March 2021 following due COVID protocol. The event started with the playing of the national anthems of Bangladesh and Nigeria. In his welcome remarks, Mr. Masudur Rahman, High Commissioner paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the martyrdom of three million Bangalees and supreme sacrifice of the freedom fighters. He highlighted the glorious moment of the 50th Anniversary of Independence of Bangladesh coinciding with the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation, while reflecting on the admirable comments and quotables made by the Heads of States from across the globe. He gave an elaborate presentation of the socio-economic transformation Bangladesh made under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the way to achieving the Vision 2021 to turn Bangladesh into a digital and middle income country. While touching briefly on the Nigeria-Bangladesh bilateral relations, he pledged to elevate the two way relations to a new height. As per current practices here, Ms. Aisha Dewa, Director (Asia and Pacific Division) of the Nigerian Foreign Ministry was present as the Guest of Honour representing Nigerian Foreign Minister. She gave an elaborate description of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Nigeria. In her address, the Nigerian Government extended heartiest congratulations to Bangladesh on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of
Independence. She noted with happiness about Bangladesh’s economic growth terming it as an example under the COVID-struck global economic landscape. She hoped that Nigeria would strive to deepen collaboration with Bangladesh in a wide areas of mutual interest like education, agriculture, defense, culture, trade and commerce. She mentioned about the conclusion of a bilateral mechanism between the two countries. She praised about the new momentum launched through the MOU between Nigerian Chamber (NACCIMA) and Bangladesh FBCCI and hoped that both countries would endeavor to expand the two way trade. The event was attended by Dr. Ifeoma Anyanwutaku, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Information and Culture, representative of Nigerian Army Chief, Major General Charles Ofoche, Chief of Protocol Ambassador Bello H. Kazaure who joined the High Commissioner, Ms. Aisha Dewa and Ambassador’s spouse Dilmat Ara to cut the Golden Jubilee Anniversary Cake. Later, Princess Bola Ezeji, an eminent Nigerian artist performed a Bangla song (Jodi Raat Pohaley Shona Jeto…) as a tribute to Bangabandhu.
To mark the occasion, the Mission put up a Stall to display all major exportable of Bangladesh alongside display boards showcasing beautiful Bangladesh and Mujib Corner-focusing on various activities of the Mission on the occasion of the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation. The Mission also put up a Traditional Pithha and Sweet Corner, where home-made Chandro Puli, Nakshi Pithha, Kalo Jam, Gurer Shandesh, Golap Ful Pithha and Poa Pithha became an instant hit and a special delicacy of the food cards. As the Reception continued the documentaries were screened on Bangabandhu and Liberation War, tourism, and economic potentials of the country. The guests received souvenir gifts containing Golden Jubilee & Mujib Borsho Mug, Golden Jubilee Coat Pin, Mujib Borsho Coat Pin, Dual National Flags Coat Pin and postage stamp released by the Nigerian Government to mark the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Reception was graced by the personalities from the fields of academia, electronic and printing media, high civil and military officials and leaders from major chamber bodies from different states in Nigeria and eminent Bangladesh community members and entrepreneurs. Ambassadors/High Commissioners from around 30 countries and Representatives from UN and International Organisations attended the event.
