Bitter cold at minus 22 degrees Celsius, with snowfall.
A working day, and on top of that, the evening hours.
Yet people came out into the streets to protest.
There was only one demand:
Stop the inhuman persecution of minorities in Bangladesh.
Let them live safely and peacefully in their beloved homeland, Bangladesh.
The contribution of minorities to the creation of Bangladesh is undeniable.
Several hundred thousand sacrificed their lives for the birth of this nation.
Yet in that very country, innocent people are being burned alive and killed on false and fabricated accusations.
Across cities, villages, and rural areas, minorities are being subjected to relentless and widespread persecution.
On January 21, in solidarity with similar demonstrations held simultaneously in cities and countries around the world, a peaceful human chain and protest demonstration was organized in downtown Montreal, in front of Tim Hortons.
Below are some photographs captured by CBNA’s camera during the protest.
During the demonstration, free coffee was generously provided by Tim Hortons, owned by Nazrul Alam Shanu.
“Many progressive individuals from different faiths were present at the human chain, and members of the mainstream community expressed their support by honking their car horns.
