The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul observed ‘Sheikh Russel Day’ marking the Birth Anniversary of Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

 The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul observed ‘Sheikh Russel Day’ in a befitting manner on 18 October 2023 marking the birth anniversary of Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Embassy officials and expatriate Bangladeshis along with their children as well as the Korean nationals participated in the event.

Ambassador Delwar Hossain offered floral wreathe at the portrait of Sheikh Russel as a tribute to his memory. A special prayer was offered for the salvation and peace of the departed soul of Shaheed Sheikh Russel including the Father of the Nation and his martyred family members who were brutally assassinated on 15 August 1975, and for the continued peace and prosperity of the nation. The officers of the Embassy read out the messages of the Hon’ble President and the Hon’ble Prime Minister. A documentary on the life of Sheikh Russel was also screened which was followed by discussion session.

The Embassy also arranged poetry recitations and art programme for the children. The expatriate Bangladeshi children spontaneously participated in the said programme. Ambassador Delwar Hossain, then, gave away prizes to the children and cut a cake with them to celebrate this occasion.

 

সিউলে যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের কনিষ্ঠ পুত্র শেখ রাসেলের জন্মদিন স্মরণে ‘শেখ রাসেল দিবস’ পালন।  

 সিউলে বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসের আয়োজনে ১৮ অক্টোবর ২০২৩ তারিখ যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের কনিষ্ঠ পুত্র শেখ রাসেলের শুভ জন্মদিন স্মরণে ‘শেখ রাসেল দিবস’ পালন করা হয়। দূতাবাসের কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীগণ ও প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশীগণ তাদের শিশু-কিশোরদেরসহ এবং কোরিয়ান নাগরিকগণ এ অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানের প্রারম্ভে রাষ্ট্রদূত জনাব মোঃ দেলওয়ার হোসেন শেখ রাসেলের প্রতিকৃতিতে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণের মধ্য দিয়ে তাঁর স্মৃতির প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন। এরপর ১৯৭৫ সালের ১৫ আগস্টে শেখ রাসেলসহ জাতির পিতা ও তাঁর পরিবারের অন্যান্য শহিদ সদস্যবৃন্দের আত্মার শান্তি কামনা করে এবং দেশ ও জাতির শান্তি ও উত্তরোত্তর সমৃদ্ধি কামনা করে বিশেষ মোনাজাত করা হয়। অতঃপর দূতাবাসের কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতি ও মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বাণী পাঠ করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে শেখ রাসেলের উপর নির্মিত একটি প্রামাণ্যচিত্র প্রদর্শন করা হয় এবং আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়।

‘শেখ রাসেল দিবস’ উপলক্ষ্যে দূতাবাস শিশু-কিশোরদের অংশগ্রহণে কবিতা আবৃত্তি ও চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করে। এতে দক্ষিণ কোরিয়ায় বসবাসরত শিশু-কিশোররা স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করে। মান্যবর রাষ্ট্রদূত কবিতা আবৃত্তি ও চিত্রাঙ্কনে অংশগ্রহণকারী শিশু-কিশোরদের মাঝে পুরস্কার বিতরণ করেন এবং উৎফুল্ল শিশু-কিশোরদের সাথে নিয়ে কেক কাটেন।
