And it’s the first time that the leaders of the world’s biggest democracies have gathered like this since their countries were hit by a genuine global emergency called COVID-19 Pandemic.
It follows President Biden’s announcement ahead of this weekend’s G7summit that the US will donate 500 million doses of vaccine to the poorer countries. In this regard Canada also wants to donate 100 vaccine doses. U.K. wants to donate more than 100 million doses. The new American president Joe Biden also hopes to restore traditional American alliance on his Europe trip. The relationship of G-7 members with the United States was sharply deteriorated under the then unpredictable and reckless U.S. President Donald Trump’s whimsical tariffs and reckless policies.
