স্কুল ও ডে কেয়ার সেন্টারগুলো আগস্ট পর্যন্ত বন্ধ রাখার অনুরোধ জানিয়ে ক্যুইবেকের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ’র কাছে আবেদন
বিশ্বে মহামারী আকারে ছড়িয়ে পড়া করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা ও মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা প্রতি মিনিট ও ঘন্টায় বেড়েই চলেছে । বৈশ্বিক মহামারী কোভিড -১৯-এ ক্যানাডায় এ পর্যন্ত ৩,১৮৪ মারা গেছেন এবং ক্যানাডায় আক্রান্ত রোগীর সংখ্যা বর্তমানে ৫৪ হাজার ছাড়িয়েছে । ক্যানাডার ক্যুইবেক প্রদেশেই আক্রান্ত হয়েছে ২৭ হাজারের অধিক মানুষ যা ক্যানাডার অর্ধেক এবং ক্যুইবেক প্রদেশে এ পর্যন্ত মারা গেছেন ১৮০০ অধিক মানুষ যা ক্যানাডার ৬০% । এমন ভয়াবহ পরিস্হিতিতে ক্যানাডার অন্তর্গত ক্যুইবেক প্রদেশের মাননীয় Premier /মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সিদ্ধান্ত নেন, ক্যুইবেকে Elemetary বা Primary school গুলো ও Daycare গুলো পযায়ক্রমে ১১ মে ও ১৮মে খুলে দেবেন । ব্যবসা প্রতিষ্ঠান /দোকানপাট পর্যায়ক্রমে মে থেকে খোলবেন। বৈশ্বিক মহামারী কোভিড -১৯-এ ক্যানাডার মধ্যে ক্যুইবেক প্রদেশে ও মন্ট্রিয়ল বর্তমানে Epicenter হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে । ক্যুইবেক প্রদেশে বৈশ্বিক মহামারীর ভয়াবহ প্রাদূর্ভাবরোধে একান্তই মানবিক কারণে জনস্বাস্থের জন্য online newspaper cbna24.com এ পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে Quebec Premier Francois Legault কে petition লিখে Science ও Medical Expert দের তথ্য দিয়ে প্রদেশের Premier /মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কে সর্বান্তকরণে অনুরোধ জ্ঞাপন করা হয় ক্যুইবেক প্রদেশে Elementary School ও Day care গুলো যাতে High School ও college এর মত আগষ্ট পর্যন্ত বন্ধ রাখা হয় সে জন্যে ক্যুইবেকের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী’র কাছে আবেদন । একই সাথে ভয়াবহ প্রাদূর্ভাব রোধে Physical distance এর জন্য Factory ও Restaurant জুনের আগে Reopen করা সঠিক হবেনা ।আমরা আশা করি ক্যুইবেক প্রদেশের মাননীয় Premier Francois Legault Science ও Medical Expert দের তথ্য সহানুভূতির সাথে বিবেচনা করে পূর্ব থেকেই সঠিক সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহন করবেন বলেই ক্যুইবেকের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী’র কাছে আবেদন।

Sub: Our earnest, honest and whole hearted appeal to the Honorable Premier of Quebec Francois Legault to stop reopening elementary schools, day cares and businesses in May with a view to containing the deadly surge of COVID-19 Pandemic.
About the re-opening of schools, the government of Quebec announced on Monday “Elementary schools and day cares will begin reopening on May 11 outside of the greater Montreal region and on May 19 on the island of Montreal, Laval and in surrounding suburbs. All other schools — high schools, colleges and universities — won’t reopen until late August.” Honorable Quebec Premier Francois Legault said Monday the decision to begin loosening coronavirus restrictions by reopening elementary schools was made, in part, because the risk of younger children developing complications from COVID-19 is very low. “Life must go on,” Legault said at the government’s daily news conference
Some Quebec businesses will be allowed to reopen in the coming weeks, Honorable Quebec Premier François Legault announced Tuesday as part of the government’s plan to gradually restart the economy. “The goal is to reopen gradually to see if there is an impact on contagion, if there is an impact on our hospitals,” Legault said at his daily afternoon briefing. Retail stores that have an outdoor entrance will be allowed to reopen on May 4 throughout Quebec, except for in the greater Montreal region, where retail stores will reopen on May 11, said Economy Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon.
With utmost respect to you, we strongly believe that the province of Quebec has moved much more quickly than other provinces to reopen elementary schools, daycares and businesses, despite having the most infected cases as well as the most deaths related to COVID-19 in Quebec compared to other provinces in Canada. On the other hand, it will be very difficult to maintain physical distancing measures in elementary schools and daycare centres with younger children. The prospect of sending their children back to school in two weeks took many parents by surprise and the overwhelming reaction was fear coupled with many unanswered questions.
Parents’ associations and teachers’ unions also expressed concerns the government is rushing ahead without consulting widely enough before making a decision. They worry the safety measures proposed, including reduced class sizes, won’t be sufficient to prevent further outbreaks. Unions representing teachers and bus drivers in Quebec are concerned over the government’s plan to send young students and children back to elementary schools and daycares as early as May as the province’s novel coronavirus cases continue to climb.
Speaking to reporters outside Rideau Cottage in Ottawa on Tuesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau urged caution as Quebec considered a reopening of its economy, saying that Canada is “not there yet” when it comes to that ability to lift COVID-19 restrictions. Canada’s top doctor Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer Theresa Tam said Saturday that there isn’t enough evidence to back herd immunity as a way to reopen society, as Quebec’s premier is considering the approach to restart his province’s economy. She further said, ‘Reopening too fast could cause deadly surge.”, Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam said about COVID-19 latest projection, “In the short term, Canada is on track to hit between 53,196 cases and 66, 835 cases and between 3,277 and 3,883 deaths by this time next week by 5th may. We strongly believe that considering all those scientific models it will really be a grave mistake to open the elementary schools, day cares and business as early as May in Quebec.
The World Health Organization (WHO) published a brief on Friday stating that there is “currently no evidence” that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies would be protected from a second infection, but clarified Saturday that most people infected would end up with “some level of protection.” Infectious disease expert Dr. Abdu Sharkawy told CTV’s Your Morning that it is too soon for provinces to reopen schools amid the pandemic. Dr. Abdu Sharkawy said in an interview on Tuesday. “I think the risk is certainly much higher than the benefits.”
We, wholeheartedly and fervently, request the Honorable Premier of Quebec Francois Legault to reconsider the decision because Quebec has the highest number COVID-19 positive cases totaling has 26,594 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and highest number of deaths totaling 1,761. Canada has more that 50,000 COVID-19 positive cases and more than 3,000 deaths on Wednesday, the 29th April. The province of Quebec represents 50% of total COVID-19 cases and more than 55% total COVID-19 deaths in Canada. We request you not to open only businesses before 8th June provided the surge comes down at satisfactory level. Elementary schools and daycares should not reopen until late August. We pray and hope that the Honorable Premier of Quebec will again carefully listen and discuss with scientists, medical experts, teachers, parents, journalist, unions and businesses and stop reopening the elementary schools, day cares and businesses as early as May in Quebec for the greatest benefit and safety measures of all the people Quebec in Canada. We proposed and supported the petition.
